Kana Tatebayashi (館林 火奈, Tatebayashi Kana) is half-mermaid half-vampire yōkai child living in Sakurashinmachi. She is the twin sister of Mina Tatebayashi and their guardian is Shidou Mizuki.
Appearance[]
Kana has brown hair and red eyes.
She wears a red jacket.
Personality[]
Kana is a sweet, timid, well-behaved and polite child who is calm, in opposition to her sister, thus the expression her body movements is consequently more serene, and so are the demonstrations of her affection for others.
She doesn't talk too much about herself. Rather, she seems to altruistically understand that everyone has their own importance. Also she can show that she is patient and prefers to wait for her turn, instead bragging or complaining. Her not speaking too much, makes surprising when she actually shows she might have her own deeper thoughts or understanding about people and things.
She shows a great ability of empathy with others, compassion and strive for high emotional intelligence for her age, when she interacts alone with Enjin Hiizumi, after being kidnapped by Rokkaku.
History[]
Kana, along with her twin sister Mina Tatebayashi, were born to a vampire police officer and a mermaid. Shortly after they were born, both parents died in an incident, leaving them in the care of Shidou Mizuki who feels guilt over not being able to protect their parents.

Abilities[]
Blood Induced Growth: Due to her vampire half being more prominent, exposure to blood will cause Kana to grow, giving her the appearance of a teenager or young adult. The blood does not have to be directly consumed and can be triggered by exposure to blood through skin. This is not limited to human or yōkai blood as it can also be triggered animal blood, such as duck's blood in food.
Enhanced Endurance: Due to her vampiric and mermaid origins, Kana is able to survive incidents which would kill regular humans.
Accelerated Healing: Kana is shown to recover from injuries inflicted by Touka Kishi quickly possibly due to her vampiric and mermaid origins.

- Kana and Mina Tatebayashi appear in Bushiroad's mobile trading card game Triple MonsterS as part of Yozakura Quartet event which took place between September 26, 2018 to October 10, 2018. They can be obtained as a single card during the event. Their artwork is from the November 2015 cover of Monthly Shōnen Sirius.
Etymology[]
- The name Kana means "fire/flame, light, blaze" (火) (ka) and "apple tree" (奈) (na).
- Kana's surname Tatebayashi means "hall, mansion/mansion house, palace, small castle" (館) (tate) and "forest" (林) (hayashi/bayashi).
